Reasons to keep your cats indoors
Mornin’ cat lovers…
My first cat as an adult, Bushwhacker, was an outside and indoor cat, mostly outside. Over the years, he’d wander, disappear for days, give me no end of worry about what had happened to him, then return, usually with some other poor cat’s claws stuck into his legs or head. When he got older, he became an indoor only cat. When we moved out to a rural area where there are many wild creatures to worry about, I decided to make all my cats indoor pets only. Although sometimes I want to boot them outside when they get too crazy (especially Mr. Big), I know it’s much healthier for them inside.
Here’s a blog post with a lot of links to information on why you should keep your cats inside. I know it’s a hard decision to make, but it really is best for our cats.

I don’t think it really matters where you live, there are always dangers to cats outside. There are many ways to allow cats to enjoy the outside without being outside cats. Some cats use harnesses and go out with their owners. Other people have outside enclosures. Personally, I have no real interest in outside but I quite like my large windows!

Oh yes.. I remember how my grandmother’s cats would roam around for days, sometimes even weeks! They would finally come home all beat up and pitiful looking.
